We are resting, recovering, and putting together our recaps of our big DC weekend, but I will let you in on a little spoiler – we both got PR’s! It was a beautiful day to run, a great race organized by Nike, and an overall positive experience. But much more on that coming later in the week!
Here was a recap of my week leading up to the race:
Monday, April 21st: 3.7 miles running
Tuesday, April 22nd: 7 miles running, Barre fitness class
Wednesday, April 23rd: 2.5 miles running, Bootcamp and Muscle Works class
Thursday, April 24th: 5 miles running, Barre fitness class
Friday, April 25th: Rest Day
Saturday, April 26th: Rest Day
Sunday, April 27th: Nike DC Half, 13.1 miles running
Total: 31.3 miles running
I am taking today off of running to relax from the busy weekend, but I will be back at it tomorrow with a 7 mile run. Now that I am focusing all my training on the marathon, the weekly miles are only going to continue to rise! This week I have 41 miles scheduled, including a 16 mile run on Sunday which will be my longest run so far.
