Weekly Recap – Kathleen

Weekly Recap:

Monday, March 10th—5 mile walk outside going to lunch, library and the bank!

Tuesday, March 11th—2.5 mile run on treadmill

Wednesday, March 12th—Rest Day

Thursday, March 13th—2.5 mile run on treadmill

Friday, March 14th—Rest Day

Saturday, March 15th—5 mile run OUTSIDE 🙂 with a 10:02 pace (best ever pace!!)

Sunday, March 16th—20 minute resistance cord workout

I’m not going to lie…. My two short runs were not pretty this week.  They were so bad that I was starting to doubt myself as a runner and my ultimate goal for the Nike Half which is a sub 2:20 (which is 10:40 pace).  I know I shouldn’t be too upset, but the pace of them was nowhere near as good as I had been running lately…especially since they were only 2.5 miles each, they should not have been as bad as they were.  I’m not sure what was up those days, but Saturday’s run was redemption!

It was a pretty perfect day for a run.  I only had to avoid a few ice puddles/mud puddles and I just felt like I was running really well.  I finished the five mile run at 50:16 which was 10:02 pace.  That is really good for me, so I was very happy.  That run definitely gave me hope that with the improving outdoor weather that I’ll be able to work towards my Nike Half goal outdoors for the remaining 6 weeks of training!

  1. Hang in there! The winter has been terrible for training and I’ve had quite a few bad runs – the “redemption” runs have helped me keep my sanity! I’m glad you had a good run Saturday and hoping this winter is almost over!!

  2. i think you’re off to a good start for the dc half! keep it up!
